Fossil fuel is the major source of fuel and energy on this planet. There are many different kinds of fossil fuel and each has their own use. Coal, one of the most commonly used fuel source, has been used by man since ancient times. Thanks to the discovery of the commercial use for fossil fuels, the Industrial Revolution came to be. Since then, man has almost become dependent to fossil fuels for energy.
Fossil fuel is also a non-renewable source, meaning it cannot be replaced easily. These fuels are formed from the remains of ancient plans and animal and would only be replaced after thousands, even millions, of year. This is the main limitation of this fuel. Another major concern for the use of fossil fuel is the amount of pollution it produces. Not only does the combustion of these fuels create excessive amount of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, but oil spills are also very damaging to nature, particularly to marine life.
Since the limitations and dangers of fossil fuels have been realized, man sought to find alternatives he can use to get over the hurdles this energy source presents. One such alternative are wood pellet fuels. Unlike coals, wood pellets fuel are a renewable energy source. It is made using biomass method from recycled saw dusts. Wood pellets are also very cheap and easy to produce. According to statistics, around 800,000 homes in the United States already used wood pellets as fuel. Schools other buildings also use wood pellets for heating. It is also environment friendly since it burns clean and does not add to air pollution like fossil fuels.
